About Take Two

Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection.

The Opportunity

The Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) operates Secure Welfare Services (SWS) which comprises of two secure 10-bed units, one for males and one for females. Secure Welfare Services are state-wide facilities prescribed under the Children, Youth & Families Act 2005 (CY&FA). SWS provides short-term secure care (24 hours to 3 weeks) for young people aged 10-17 years deemed to be at substantial & immediate risk of harm.

This position is responsible for providing mental health assessments, as well as delivering a high quality intensive therapeutic service to young people while they are admitted to SWS, and providing secondary consultation and support to SWS and Regional staff of both DHHS and Community Service Organisations.

About You

You will hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline coupled with experience of Child Protection or Out of Home Care clients. Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice is strongly preferred. Experience of working within the CQI frameworks of the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards would be an advantage.
