About the role:

The Night Residential Unit Supervisor will provide supervision, support, coaching and mentoring to a team of Night Residential Care workers across the region to ensure a high quality, therapeutically focused care.

In addition, the Night Residential Unit Supervisor will attend to and respond to queries, incidents and concerns from staff in a prompt manner. This role plays a vital part in ensuring overnight safety plans for young people in out of home care are met and will be based on-site from the Unit. Further to the Residential Care program, this position is also a key contact to respond to regional incidents in the broader Out of Home Care space.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • A current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence (minimum green Ps);
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia;
  • Be willing to undertake a National Police Check with Berry Street, and an International Police Check if applicable;
  • A valid Working With Children Employee Card;

Qualifications in the following:

  • Residential Care (Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention);
  • Relevant qualification in Youth Work and or Community Services or Alcohol & Other Drugs fields

The successful applicant will ideally hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family intervention or a relevant qualification as well as previous industry experience. We are seeking someone who has the ability to identify opportunities for improved practice and can meet the flexible demands of the role. Previous experience leading a team would be advantageous.
