About the Berry Street School:

Are you passionate about alternative education and determined to see change for young people with complex educational needs?

Do you have experience in overseeing and implementing school-wide curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of students?

The Berry Street School is a specialist independent school consisting of four campuses based in Shepparton, Morwell, Ballarat and Noble Park. We provide a Victorian Curriculum and VCAL program for students aged 12 - 18 years.

The Morwell Campus has an enrolment of 50 students and delivers a trauma-informed, restorative practice approach to education.

About the role:

The Morwell Campus offers a VCAL Foundation a modified Victorian Curriculum Year 7-10 program and is preparing to offer Intermediate and Senior VCAL.

The Specialist Teacher will carry a teaching load and support the implementation of the Berry Street trauma-informed model of education.

With support from the leadership team, implement the effective delivery of the education model within the campus and assess and report against student progress in line with the Victorian Curriculum.

This role is offered on a full time, fixed term basis until May 2020.

About you:

You will have experience in the delivery of differentiated curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of students and the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to ongoing curriculum development. You will be VIT registered and have a sound knowledge of a range of teaching and learning practices that lead to improved student outcomes.

Additional qualifications in Education or Education Support or Welfare are highly desirable, along with experience in Primary Education settings.
