The Northern Family & Domestic Violence Service is the lead provider and access point for the integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan region. The Triage and Response Worker plays a critical role in Family Violence risk assessment, safety planning and engagement of women and children into any supports they need.

New opportunities have arisen due to new funding allocated to the broader Family and Domestic Violence Team.

 

About the role:

This role will ensure the integration of this suite of responses within the team, as well as linking with external services as required.

This role will be responsible for triaging referrals from police, women presenting to the service directly and from a variety of other services then formulating appropriate functions for individual needs. You will be working in a team working across the Multi-Agency Triage, High Risk and General Triage and Response functions.

 

About you:

  • We are seeking someone with a strong understanding of the complexity of family violence and various service systems that clients interface with and the advocacy required in these systems.
  • Have a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, welfare or a related discipline.
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation including Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Child, Youth and Families Act 2007.
  • Great team player with a positive attitude.
  • Capacity to be flexible as part of a rostered Triage and Response Team.
