About the role:
Berry Street provides high quality Out of Home Care Services in our Western region. The Foster Care Program provides General, Intensive and Complex Foster Care for children and young people who are unable to live with their own families. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Intake & Assessment Worker to join our vibrant Western Home Based Care team.
With a solid focus on strengthening our program through recruitment, training, support and quality assurance mechanisms, the Intake & Assessment Worker will undertake the assessments of prospective foster carers and review of accredited carers. There is also a requirement to provide training to prospective carers and the ongoing training for accredited caregivers.
This position is full time, fixed term for 12 months.
About you:
To be considered for this role, you must have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline and a thorough understanding attachment and trauma theories. You will have a strong understanding of the welfare system including Home Based Care and well developed knowledge of the stages of child development. You will have strong inter-personal skills and a passion to make a positive contribution to young people and their families.
