Take Two, an integral part of Berry Street, is a state-wide service that provides high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse or neglect and are clients of Child Protection. 

About the Role:

Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) aims to improve outcomes and life trajectories for children and young people with complex needs who have experienced abuse or neglect related trauma. In TRC, every interaction between children and young people and residential care staff is recognized and valued as an opportunity to counter and heal the effects of past trauma and disrupted attachment.

The Senior Clinician – Residential Care provides consultation and therapeutic support to the Residential Care program operated in partnership with the Berry Street South Region. The role will support one of Berry Street’s Residential Units, providing direct consultation and reflective space to the staff to support the embedding of therapeutic principles in the practice of residential care.

About you:

The successful applicant will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline. You will have a thorough understanding of the impact of trauma as well as a well-developed understanding of out of home care services.  A minimum of 5 years’ experience conducting clinical work with children is required in this role.
