- Permanent Part Time Position– fixed roster per fortnight

Berry Street's Residential Programs provide accommodation, care and support to children and young people who cannot live with their families and who are referred through the child protection system.
About the role:
- The Night Residential Care Worker provides a high standard of physical and emotional care to young people living in the houses.
- At times this role will require the Night Residential Care worker to respond to additional support in the area for pick-ups of our Young People (either alone or as a back-up to the Night Supervisor).
- This role involves working active nights, shifts running from approx.10:30pm until 8am.
- The role requires you to interact positively with the young people, providing an overnight environment conducive to a normal family household routine i.e. a settled, calm environment with all residents asleep in their own rooms
- There are also considerable observational, administrative and compliance requirements, with staff responsible for completing reports, updating records regarding the young people in our care.
About you:
- A genuine desire to engage and build meaningful relationships with young people;
- Interest in contributing to the wellbeing and development of young people who may have significant behavioural difficulties;
- Flexibility to accept casual work and hours across various operating hours;
- Enjoy responsibility and lots of variety in their job;
- Open minded and non-judgemental;
- Great communication skills and engage well with young people and staff;
- Resilience during a crisis or conflict;
- Professional manner and presentation to deal with services supporting young people.
Essential requirements for the role:
- Relevant Qualifications (Dip, Cert IV or equivalent in the field of Residential Care)
- A current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence (minimum green Ps);
- Evidence of right to work in Australia;
- Be willing to undertake a National Police Check with Berry Street, and an International Police Check if applicable;
- A valid Working With Children Employee Card;
- Be willing to undertake a Psychometric Assessment with Berry Street.
