The Opportunity

The Residential Unit Supervisor will provide supervision, support, coaching and mentoring to a team of Residential Care workers working in a house to ensure a high quality, therapeutically focused care is provided 24/7.

The Residential Care Unit Supervisor is instrumental in the provision of high-quality residential care based on a therapeutic and trauma informed model of care. The position will actively lead and supervise a dedicated team of Residential Care Workers through nurturing the Children and Young People in accordance with their case management plan. The Unit Supervisor manages the daily operations of the Unit and supports the recruitment, development and retention of Residential Carers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of Residential Unit.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Residential Care Workers.
  • Comply with reporting requirements for program components.
  • Administration and accountability of annual budgets and program planning.
  • Embedding a therapeutic framework by overseeing best practice implementation of Children and Young People’s individual case management plans and fostering an outcomes-focused team.
  • After hours and on call duties.
  • Develop and assist with unit rosters

The key requirements for this role are

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Provide direction for Residential Care Workers.
  • Teamwork – the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others as a team.
  • Sound Oral and written Communication skills.
  • Relationship building – the ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and/or outside the organisation.

About You

The successful applicant will ideally hold a Cert IV in Community Services Protective Care or higher coupled with previous industry experience and previous experience as Unit Supervisor will be highly regarded.

We are seeking someone who has the ability to identify opportunities for improved practice and can meet the flexible demands of the role. Previous experience leading a team would be highly advantageous.
