About us:

Berry Street's Residential Care Programs provide accommodation, care and support to children and young people. With multiple sites across Victoria, our houses are staffed on a 24-hour roster, 7 days a week.  Most shifts are 8 hours in length and day and afternoon shifts span the hours of 7am and 11pm and are required to be able available to work night and stand up shifts.

We have several opportunities for current staff to apply for ongoing lines on a long term basis.  This will give employees an opportunity to have a structured work life balance where you can fit in the more important things in life, like family, kids and well spent time with your loved ones.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Children and Young People who may display complex issues, possible trauma affectation and disabilities.
  • Supporting Children and Young People with major behaviours of concern within a positive and therapeutic frame work.
  • Assistance with activities of daily living, this includes spending quality time in the home, cooking meals, undertaking household duties and participating in their daily activities as required.
  • Documentation and progress note keeping will form part of the duties involved for this role.

Work across a variety of shifts:

At Berry Street we encourage a work life balance and ensure our people take the opportunities to work across varied shifts to allow time for those important things in life; such as family and friends.

We offer the following shifts for our Residential Care Workers;

  • Day/Evening: Shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 8:00pm.
  • Stand Up: Shifts are between 10:00pm - 08:00am.

  • Chestnut Avenue Morwell

  • Professional to deal with services supporting young people.
