Berry Street's Residential Programs provide accommodation, care and support to children and young people. With multiple sites across Victoria, our houses are staffed on a 24-hour roster, 7 days a week. Most shifts are 8 hours in length and day and afternoon shifts span the hours of 7am and 11pm and are required to be able available to work night and stand up shifts.
Key responsibilities:
- Working closely with Children and Young People who may display complex issues, possible trauma affectation and disabilities.
- Supporting Children and Young People with major behaviours of concern within a positive and therapeutic frame work.
- Assistance with activities of daily living, this includes spending quality time in the home, cooking meals, undertaking household duties and participating in their daily activities as required.
- Documentation and progress note keeping as required
Essential requirements for the role:
- Certificate IV in Residential Care (Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention)
- OR equivalent
- OR be prepared to enrol into the certificate (eligibility criteria apply)

- Be willing to undertake a National Police Check with Berry Street
- A valid Working with Children Employee Card
- Be willing to undertake a Psychometric Assessment with Berry Street
- A current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence (minimum green Ps)
- Applicants must have valid working rights
