ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Education First Youth Foyer Program is an innovative partnership model to help young people who are committed to their education but who are at risk of homelessness build sustainable lives.  The Model developed by the Brotherhood of St Laurence and Launch Housing and is based on the Open Talent and Advantaged Thinking approach.

This role is casual with variation of shifts, primarily night shift work (11.00pm – 7.30am). Great if you are studying!

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Support the ongoing operation of the Education First Youth Foyer Program.
  • Provide individual mentoring and coaching to students of Foyer to support their development of goals and life skills
  • Promote the Education First Youth Foyer as a community engaged program and promote opportunities for students to engage with their community
  • MUST be available for night shifts!
  • Casual

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for someone with energy, drive and a passion for working with marginalised young people to support them to achieve an independent and sustainable life.

We are looking for someone with a broad range of life experiences, skills and employment backgrounds who have a genuine interest in supporting young people to experience their community and make a contribution to the community. A tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, Education and/or appropriate experience.

REMUNERATION:

  • The base salary for this position is SCHCADS Level 3 to 4, Pay Point 1 which currently ranges from $35.6169-$40.1451 per hour inclusive of casual loading plus super under the Berry Street Victoria 2014-2017 Agreement.
  • The value of the salary may be increased through salary packaging.
