ABOUT THE ROLE

You will play a vital role in supporting advocacy and social action to challenge and change the way we support and care for children and young people who have experienced disadvantage, as well as helping to develop a social enterprise consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and leadership to the Y-Change team of young Lived Experience Consultants
  • Facilitate training for young people with lived experience of disadvantage
  • Provide task supervision to the Y-Change team
  • Convene Y-Change team meetings
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on emerging opportunities and challenges within the team

This is a part time role with flexible working hours (6 days per fortnight).  Fixed term contract through to March 2020.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a strong advocate and creative thinker passionate about providing support and leadership to our team of Lived Experience Consultants.

  • Diploma in social and/or youth-related fields or equivalent work experience
  • Personal lived experience of accessing support and welfare services 
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of digital and social media to engage with young people (desirable)
  • Experience with advocacy, social action and/or activism (desirable)
  • Confident public speaking skills
  • Must hold a valid WWCC at all times and undergo a Criminal Records Check prior to employment

REMUNERATION

  • Under the Berry Street Victoria 2014-2017 Agreement, the salary range for this position is SCHADS Level 4 Pay Point 1 - 4 ($63,461.31 - $68,287.89) pro-rated
