The Berry Street School is a specialist independent school consisting of four campuses based in Morwell, Noble Park, Shepparton and our new campus in Ballarat from 2017. The School adheres to standards set by the Victorian and Federal Governments and offers the Victorian Curriculum for years 7 -10 and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning. Many students referred to our School have experienced trauma and disrupted attachment as a result most have significant gaps in academic achievement and have either stopped attending or been excluded from mainstream education settings. The School uses the research based Berry Street Education Model to inform its teaching practices.

The Senior Manager oversees the Morwell campus operations and the CIRC program co-located on campus.  This program provides trauma informed education support and tutoring to young people who reside in Berry Street Residential Units, mainstream schools and alternative education settings in the region.  It also includes a fee for service tutoring program.

The primary objectives of the role include:

  • Overall accountability for a high standard of delivery and the continued improvement of curriculum, competency based learning, student intake, welfare & emotional wellbeing with the campus.
  • Maintaining a cohesive team bringing together the disciplines of education and welfare and ensuring team members are provided with supervision, support and professional development.
  • Enhancing and growing local community partnerships and networks representing Berry Street's educational programs.

 

We are looking for a candidate with outstanding capacity for visionary and exemplary educational leadership of a school campus, and skills and experience in leading and evaluating school and vocational programs that engage students with complex needs and challenging behaviours. You will have a tertiary qualification in Education and relevant leadership experience in an educational organisation.
